Archiving Pioneer Builds Momentum as Enterprise Information Archiving Market Experiences Strong Growth While Extending Beyond Email to Include Other Content Types.

Bossier City, La. – January 7, 2013 – Building upon its history of innovation, ArcMail Technology, Inc. today announced it has been recognized as a “Vendor to Watch” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving (EIA), published in December 2012.

According to the report, written by Gartner’s Sheila Childs, Kenneth Chin, Debra Logan and Alan Dayley, “This market will continue to see strong growth, experiencing a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.8% through 2016, from a baseline of $1.58 billion in 2011.”

“The growth of the EIA market reflects the continuing importance placed on preserving and managing information and the risks and consequences that organizations face if they don’t have the right technology in place,” said Rory Welch, CEO of ArcMail.

"We are seeing a shift toward demand for archiving solutions being driven primarily as a means to meet regulatory compliance needs and save IT department costs – not to mention time and headaches," noted Welch. "For us, this recognition in the Magic Quadrant is significant, and signals that ArcMail is building market momentum as we demonstrate our dedication to meeting and exceeding our customers’ email compliance, data protection and rapid-fire information retrieval needs.”

EIA Shift to More Content Types Beyond Email

Gartner’s EIA Magic Quadrant states that “email is still the predominant content type being archived by EIA products with 68% of overall archiving revenue in 2011 resulting from email archiving product sales.”

However, it also notes that “the requirement for good retention, deletion and legal hold policy management goes beyond email content. Organizations that have successfully implemented email archiving have seen associated benefits in their ability to better organize their data, find information when they need it, produce it in response to a discovery request, and, as a side benefit, reduce the size of their primary and secondary storage environments. These organizations have come to realize that these benefits are extensible to content beyond email, and are looking to implement policies and technologies that can do the same for files and Microsoft SharePoint and other content.”

Innovation is Hallmark of ArcMail Product Strategy

ArcMail has capitalized on these market trends while staking a leadership claim in the information archiving market by launching a series of innovative products over the past several years including ArcMail Guardian, an email archiving solution for Google Apps™ email; ArcMail for SharePoint, an archiving solution for Microsoft SharePoint™; an archiving appliance for Salesforce.com™ Chatter™, the real-time enterprise collaboration platform; and ArcMail for Instant Messaging, a new IM archiving appliance that works with all the most popular IM platforms including Yahoo!®, AOL Instant Messenger® (AIM) and MSN®.

The company also offers support for virtualized servers, along with the ArcMail Defender Cloud Storage Gateway, a new breed of gateway technology that enables businesses to designate the files they want securely available at their fingertips at breakneck speeds, while also taking advantage of the datacenter cost savings that cloud storage allows.
